What is going on in Barrie, Ontario? Motor vehicle collisions are rampant this Spring Summer and 2024.

  • On May 23, 2024, there was a tragic, fatal collision on Red Maple Lane where a recycling truck struck a toddler.
  • On May 28, 2024, there were at least three collisions. A single vehicle collision on Livingstone Street West and Sunnidale Road resulted in a charge of careless driving.
  • Also on May 28, 2024, there was a collision on Dunlop Street West at Hart Drive between a transport truck and a Ford Explorer.
  • Also on May 28, 2024, there was a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Bayfield Street and Rose Street that involved a car, a motorcycle and a pickup truck. The motor cyclist was seriously injured.
  • On June 2, 2024, a pickup truck struck a home on Grove Street East in Barrie.
  • On June 4, 2024, there was a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Dunlop Street West and Miller Drive in Barrie, involving an e-bike.
  • On June 8, 2024, a pedestrian was struck by a police car as she exited a municipal bus on Essa Road in Barrie.
  • On June 11, 2024, there was a serios motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Welham Road and Ellis Drive in Barrie resulting in serious injuries to multiple occupants.
  • On June 13, 2024, a tragic fatal accident involving a motor cycle occurred on Ferndale Drive North in Barrie.
  • On June 24, 2024, a single vehicle collision on Essa Road south of Salem Road in Barrie resulted in serious injuries to one occupant.
  • On June 29, 2024, a single vehicle collision injured six people, including at least on person with serious injuries.
  • On July 3, 2024, the OPP responded to a serious crash at Crossland Road near Flos Road, in Tiny Township, leading to the hospitalization of one person involved and the tragic death of another.
